Before dedicating her life to mental health, Anku spent over a decade working in the fast paced worlds of hedge funds and investment banking, earning her MBA in Finance along the way. It was through that high pressure, high stakes environment that she witnessed firsthand how deeply stress, burnout, and unaddressed emotional struggles can impact every area of a person's life. That realization became the catalyst for one of the most meaningful decisions she has ever made, leaving a lucrative career behind to follow her true calling.
Anku returned to school, earned her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, and became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Connecticut. She is currently ABD (All But Dissertation) in her PsyD program in Human and Organizational Psychology, continuing to deepen her knowledge and commitment to the field she loves. Her rare combination of business acumen, global perspective, and clinical expertise gives her a distinctly grounded and multidimensional approach that her clients often find refreshing and incredibly relatable.
Anku holds certifications in Trauma-Focused CBT and draws from Solution-Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, Trauma-Focused CBT, and DBT to craft a personalized, evidence based approach for every person she works with. She has gained rich clinical experience across both private practice and agency settings, working with a diverse range of individuals, couples, and families through some of life's most tender and complex chapters.
Having navigated the profound experience of building a life far from home, Anku has a deep and personal understanding of what it means to adapt, reinvent oneself, and find belonging in unfamiliar places. She is especially passionate about working with multicultural individuals, immigrants, and first generation clients who are navigating the intersection of identity, culture, and mental health. She is equally committed to creating a warm, inclusive, and affirming space for all clients, including those in diverse relationship structures, and those facing grief, infertility, life transitions, and the unique pressures of high achieving lifestyles.
When Anku is not in the therapy room, she is soaking up adventures around the world, cherishing quiet moments at home with her husband, her energetic toddler, and her beloved Yorkie. She believes that a full, joyful, and well traveled life outside of work makes her a better, more present therapist inside of it.
Anku brings her whole self into this work because she believes every client deserves a therapist who is not only clinically skilled but also deeply human. Her journey across cultures, careers, and continents has taught her that reinvention is possible, that healing is real, and that it is never too late to build the life and relationships you truly want. No matter where you come from or what you are carrying, you are welcome here. Anku would be honored to be part of your story.
